I’m a Beekeeper!
After our poor bees died during the winter, we were hoping to order some more bees. However, situations arose that we may not be able to purchase them, however my darling Granny decided to chip in and actually bought our order of bees and a hive and order of bees for herself! She loved the taste of our raw honey so much that she decided to get some for herself also, and we couldn’t bee happier:) So we ordered two three pound shipment of bees to install into our two hives and in the meantime we arranged her hive and painted it.
Then on the 18th of May, they arrived after a nice journey from Georgia. After they arrived from the post office, I immediately formed an attachment with our new bees. They are so unique and wonderfully made by God. We prepared ourselves for installing them by watching a few YouTube videos, which can indeed come in handy for situations like this. We agreed that we like this video best:
This is basically what we did today. We installed at our home and then at my Granny’s. I was only stung once but I savored the moment. Beekeeping is such a wonderfully exciting hobby that I hope will last my entire life. We plan on getting more hives and selling our own honey to frugal consumers like ourselves with really good taste:)

My Daddy used to keep bees. It was a lot of fun, and we loved all the sweet honey, and honey comb, it was better then gum!

You did really well last night working with the bees. One sting down….how many more to go?
Oh yeah!! I’m glad they’re finally here! But you got stung?

I’m sorry to here that your bees died over the winter, but I am happy for you that your granny generous.
You look so sweet as you tend your bees. It makes me think of days gone by when women were women and happy to be so.
Blessing,
Marie
Like Bluejane said, our Dad used to keep bees. I think it would be so much fun to do it again, but if we do, it will have to wait a while.
Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

I just killed a honey bee! I’m so sorry!
But I’m sure it wasn’t yours, so is that okay?

Your last bee friends’ honey was delicious! I can’t wait to meet your new little buzzing friends!
It was so good to get to see you again today (that’s three days in a row)!

I have found the Chronicles of Prydain to be pretty good, if you like fantasy. If you don’t like fantasy, then I don’t know if you would like these. At first the events that happen in the books seem rather abrupt in their beginnings and endings, but the series grows on you as you continue to the fifth book.
Oh, we absolutely adore our motorhome! In fact, we haven’t been able to go anywhere in it this year, and when I went out to it recently, the smells just made me yearn to be on the road.
Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

We’re beekeepers too! Actually, my sister Abigail (age 12) is the real beekeeper. She has been interested in raising bees since she was little, and after reading a few books on the subject we got her a hive and bees earlier this month! She wrote all about them on http://www.fairhillsfarm.com/farmgirls (lots of pictures included!).
It’s a great project!
