Just a few tidbits…
For the past few weeks, Mom and I have been attending a Knitting Class at our local library. I was taught to knit around 3 to 4 years ago and really haven’t progressed. I knew how to knit and purl and bind off, yet I lacked the essentials of productivity. In short, I didn’t know how to make anything. But now I am learning how to read a pattern and talk while knitting:) Here are the two patterns I will be working on next. One is a felted coin purse, and the other is a multi-coloured scarf. Two of my favourite things: felted wool, and scarves:)
Mom and I also went to the beach on Tuesday to get in some good reading time. I finished up The Princess Adelina while she worked on Do Hard Things. The weather was perfect, and I got a little tan.
And for creativeness, I have been making homemade envelopes out of brown paper bags from the grocery store. They are very crisp and elegant. Although I may have to actually part with one of them. And also, I am in the process of making a prairie dress which I am hoping to wear for my sixteenth birthday.

This Saturday we are planning on buying a tent for our camping trips. We used to have a camper, but the poor thing was more of a burden than a blessing. I love to camp, however, every time we do camp my books smell like campfire smoke.
And I am currently reading through Creators by Paul Johnson. Excellent book so far. I really enjoyed the quote at the beginning of the book: “People do not always discern the creative element in their lives and work. But those who do are more likely to be happy.” Most of my life I have been sure that I am not creative. Yet, God made us all creative in many different ways. So when we announce in a crowd that we are “not really creative” we are undermining God’s ability to make us in His image. No “buts” about it.

Yay for knitting! I love, love, love knitting! I also love camping, I think it would be awesome to go to the beach just to read, I think your envelopes are darling, and your quote is simply perfect. Does that cover everything?
I love reading your posts!
Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

That’s great that you are taking up knitting again! I used to have the same problem, but now I teach knitting and crocheting classes! So all you have to do is set your mind to it and keep practicing! =:D You can find great free patterns on lionbrand.com bernat.com, LilySugarNCream.com, youcanmakethis.com (click on the free section in the sidebar on the left). These are some great sites! I hope you enjoy them! =:)
Blessings in Christ!

All of those tidbits add up to a very nice week.
I love the envelope idea. I may just have to make some for myself.
I tried knitting with needles and had such a hard time with it. I have the nifty knitters from Wal-Mart and I’ve been able to make hats, neck-warmers and scarves. It’s fun and easy. I can’t wait to see your prairie dress.

Have a great day!
Marie
Ooh, I heard about Creators, perhaps through you? I’d like to read it some day.
We were just talking about how nice the weather is - perfect for camping. Hmmm…
Love always

Argh! What am I supposed to say to something like that? Are we allowed to guess?
How fun!! My grandma taught me how to knit…but all I remember is the knit stitch, so I need to re-learn
I do love to crochet, though, but I don’t know how to follow a pattern either ;-).
Your proposed projects are very pretty, my mom and I like felted wool too and the stripes on that scarf are neat.
To sit and read on a beach, oh, that would be bliss!!! That is definitely something I would enjoy doing.
Have a great weekend,
4Him,

Have I been sending you too many emails, or have you just not been around long enough to reply and say what a clever and tasteful creature I am to send you such lovelies? Eh?
Okay, I’ll knock it off…for a while.
Love you bunches!
Aw - this makes me want to start a new project!!
What awesome projects! I especially am loving the envelopes (very “green”– which totally is of appeal to me and my hippie-like ways), and the striped scarf, which is so cute! I’ve been knitting for pretty much as long as I can remember, but haven’t made an awful lot of multi-coloured things like that (unlike my argyle sock-knitting mother).
So, thanks for all these neato craft ideas! I love reading you crafty peoples’ blogs.
That last sentence was really grammatically incorrect, I think.
Have a great day!
Maddy
Thank you for posting the idea of the brown bag envelopes!!! What a great way to recycle and also add beauty to letter writing!
Oh, knitting is great! A lady down the road gave us knitting classes last Fall. She is also teaching us how to weave (I wrote an article about it for the next issue of The Girlhood Home Companion).
I like that brown paper envelope idea. I used to try to make my own envelopes years ago and I was never very good at it because I didn’t cut the shape just right. I might be able to do it now that I’m older.
Thanks for the compliments on my blog design and screenplay!
