I’m an addict!
I have an addiction, one that consumes my free time and occupies my thoughts, and it is in Mom’s blood too. We are filled with the desire to do and we can not seem to get it out of our minds. We want to do it in church, in the grocery stores, and anywhere we go.
Knitting
That is what we are grasped with the desire to do. A project must be going at all times and we must have one ready for when we are done with the present one. A shawl, hat, scarf, fingerless gloves, or washcloths. We must have something going on. If not, we feel idle. That, or we are having knitting withdrawals, which are very REAL!
My latest project was a simple shawl. I cut a dishcloth pattern in half, with just an increase. It was an easy work, which allowed me to listen during school (we usually discuss passionately who will read and who will get to knit) or during our evening Bible reading. I also needed a shawl that would go with my birthday dress, which you will see in the pictures.
It was late in the evening and I had just finished it. I have that look on my face “It’s done, take my picture so it will be finished”

Hoorah! It’s done!
I’m a recent knitting addict, too. Ever since last night when I discovered how easy cables are, I’ve found it increasingly harder (is that proper English?) to pull myself away. Emily will testify.
We’ll have her hooked, no - cast on - before she can say “Rumplestiltskin!” (who was . . . a spinner. Whatever.)
Love you!
-Breezy
Oh, I totally and completely understand!
Lol! I LOVE to knit! I do other crafts too, like crochet, but my favorite is knitting!
Right now, I just finished my first cabled project (a hat) and now am working on another dishcloth…I think dishcloths are addictive as well.
Lol! I used to knit during our history when my mom would read aloud to us, and now I do it for devotions, sometimes.
I like to knit in the car, or watching a movie as well.
I have even practiced knitting with my eyes shut, just to see if I could do it!
Lol!
Your shawl turned out fabulous! It’s so beautiful! Would you mind writing up the pattern for it on your blog or maybe emailing it to me or something?
I would LOVE to make one for myself, I have been looking for just the right pattern for one, and I just LOVE yous!
Blessings in Christ!

It is lovely! and practical! You are becoming a fast knitter and so now I feel confident that you will be able to fill my orders for Christmas.
Good morning, dear! Ah, your shawl has turned out lovely . . . it looks like it goes well with your special dress. Now I’ll have to make myself a shawl, as I am knitting now. I gave it another try (after not attempting in a few years because I found out I was doing it backwards and enjoyed crocheting more). I am really enjoying it! The texture is so charming (currently using Vanna’s Choice). I’m looking forward to knitting with y’all on Tuesday.
Love,
Your Cousin
See? We got her!
YAY! I’m so happy that you love knitting! I am a knitting addict, too, and I love it when other people start!
The shawl is beautiful and you did a lovely job on it. I’m currently working on a light and lacy scarf, and a special project that I cannot name here.
Three cheers for knitting!!!
Miss Eyebright
I have enjoyed reading your delightful blog for some time. I just had to comment on this post as I also am a “knitting addict” (my handiwork blog testifies). What a lovely shawl! I love the edging! I would be appreciative and so thrilled if you might graciously share your pattern. I have made a shawl for myself (which I adore) but I find your particular spin on the garment so nice that I’m inclined to knit another.
Blessings to you!
Happy in Him,
Miss Naomi
Hello,
I found your blog via Breezy’s. I must say that you do have a sweet blog.
Maybe I shall have to learn to knit this winter … I learned a little bit once, a very long time ago … Your shawl is beautiful!
To the KING be all the glory!

Hello Maggie!
I really like your shawl, and your birthday dress! I have recently had a new liking for shawls–maybe I need to learn to knit again
Have a lovely day!
