About Me
Welcome to “Painter of Words”. I am not an accomplished writer, or perhaps a talented writer, but I am a devoted writer.
At sixteen, I live with my parents in the Great Lakes Region/Midwest of the United States of America. On one acre and living right next door to our small country church built in the late nineteenth century, we have a handful of animals and have been walking to church for nearly three years. Learning here at home since the beginning of the sixth grade, I have some of the best opportunities for learning, the experiences of which never end.
I am an avid knitter. Herbology and beekeeping are lifelong goals. Music is a passion-Selah, Debussy, Dion and the Belmonts, etc. I smell books. The poetry I compose mostly deals with tragedy, death, honor, chivalry, or romance. I am a hopeful romantic, and await my Humble Christian, instead of Prince Charming. I am fascinated by the antique, old, forgotten, and mysterious. Laughter is a staple in my life. I enjoy curling up and watching movies. Autumn and Winter are my favourite seasons. My desk looks like Jodie Foster’s in Nim’s Island; right angles and hand sanitizer. I also take pictures of my feet…I still don’t know why.
Most importantly, I am a follower of Christ. I am undeservedly rescued from an eternity apart from the Lord and I try every day to be pleasing to Him.

I think your blog is fabulous. I had no idea the amazing young woman you are turning into. Praise be to God. I miss you Margaret and was so glad to see you last week. I look forward to hearing from you!
Maggie,
I love this blog! Kristina enlightened me to it & I truly love seeing how you have turned out! I must say, thank you for writing it. Also, & about this I am serious, I see from reading this I need to have lunch (or tea, wouldn’t that be fun) with your mom. She has done a stellar job with you & I need to pick her brain. One last question, do you do classical education? Your study of latin made me wonder, please let me know. Love, Susan
I forgot to mention one more thing, if you have not found them already, you would LOVE Above Rubies. Go to http://www.aboverubies.org It is a website but also a magazine that values everything you do. I love my copies of Above Rubies, I savor every copy. You & your mom both (although you may or may not agree on all of their views of family planning, etc) would love this. As I was reading what you wrote on gardening, I was reminded of an article in Above Rubies.

Maggie, you are such an inspiration to older women and all I am sure. I truly admire the young girl you are. I am very proud of you, and hope to one day read that novel you talk about, signed of course…..Keep up your cherished good work and know that God is smiling on you. You do have a glow about you. I remember the first Sunday I met you, standing at the back of church in a white outfit. You looked like a sweet lil angel. I just knew I wanted to know her.
Love you, always in Christ Love, Teresa Hope
Love reading your blog! Sounds like a fun camping trip besides the bites
Have a wonderful week
Maggie, The longer I know you the more I am in awe of the many talents God has blessed you with, and these are all combined and rolled up into one very sweet, pretty girl. I love your site; I feel like I am able to step back in time and relax, enjoy and learn. Thanks for sharing!! As a previous lady commented, you ARE an inspiration to older women, as well as to many others, too. Keep seeking God’s will for your life, I know He has wonderful things planned for you!!
Nancy
I just discovered your blog, and I think it is excellent! We have alot of the same interests–reading (especially classics), writing, crafting, homemaking, etc. It’s good to see a “kindred spirit.”
Hi Maggie! Just wanted to encourage you to keep up the blogging! And to say (1), I love Michael Buble! and (2) I used to want to be Amish just so I could live the “simple life” w/o electricity and so many distractions from what’s really important in life. But that’s just between you and me, right?
I also LOVE border collies! We have a while before we would ever get a dog (we’ll have to have at least one kid to help me outnumber my husband’s vote), but I’ve always thought a border collie would be so much fun. They’re such cool dogs, so intelligent and active and beautiful. I’d love to see some more of your pictures of your dog(s?).
Anyway, that’s all. Just thought I’d say hi!
